My group and I chose gloves and beans to represent two of Earths elements. The gloves represented Silicon which is in the earths crust. Gloves are made out of silicon. Silicon is in both Earth and Venus's crust. The beans were in only Earths mantle. We chose silver paint and nickels to represent the elements,Nickel and Iron. Iron has a kind of metallic color the silver paint gave that color off. The Nickels were used to represent earths nickel and Iron core. Nickels are made of nickels.
Primary waves are the only waves that can refract through all the layers of the Earth. secondary waves can't travel through the liquids so the reflect or bounce off Earths outer core. Primary waves can refract either way through the Earth. Secondary waves will never make it to Earths inner core because, the outer core on Earth is liquid so the s waves will reflect off them.
The second planet my group and I did was Venus. Primary waves can go through all the layers of Venus like they would go through all the layers of Earth. Primary waves would slow down when they hit Venus's Outer and Inner core. Primary waves would speed up and get through it,and the cycle would be repeated again. Secondary waves will reflect off Venus's Outer core and it will never make it into the Inner core because,it is liquid.Secondary waves will never ever reach Earth or Venus's Inner core.
Caption: For this unit me and my partners made this poster about plate tectonics and sea- floor spreading. Since the project was to make an interactive poster we used bouncy paper to make the pictures pop out and use folders for our facts about the project. My partner Romello brought in the paper and hot glue and cut everything out. My other partner Breana decorated the poster with Christmas wrapping paper, and did most of the writing. Finally I brought in the poster, cut out the picture's, and glued them on. Me and my group used a group effort and got an A overall on this project.
In History, our continents have taken different shapes such as Pangaea. Laurasia, Gondwana. Do You think that Amasia is a possibility? It could be a possibility due to the theory of Plate Tectonics which states that the plates on Earth are moving over time. If Pangaea has happened i think it would be possible for Amasia to happen. For Amasia to happen he Arctic Ocean will disappear and Asia will crash into America forming the next Supercontinent called Amasia. The theory of seafloor spreading and the zebra stripes can also prove the reverse polarity that can happen that makes the Seafloor spread out or spread in.
This is the picture of my rock wall.
My rock wall is showing the different type's of species in the wall based on there ages. As you can see the species towards the bottom of the wall are the oldest because the bottom layer is the oldest of the rock layers. The species towards the top of the wall are the youngest because those layers are the newest/ freshest rock layers . When I did this project i used relative dating to determine how old the rock layers and the fossils were.
